& PARALYMPIC MUSEUM
The United States Olympic & Paralympic Museum is a 60,000 sf cultural facility dedicated to celebrating the achievements and stories of American Olympic and Paralympic athletes. Designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro with Anderson Mason Dale Architects as architect of record, the three-story museum features interactive galleries, a theater, and event spaces organized around a central atrium and connected by a continuous ramp that provides a universally accessible visitor experience.

KL&A served as the structural engineer of record and steel detailer for the project. The building’s structure consists of four steel-framed volumes arranged in a pinwheel configuration, creating the museum’s distinctive twisting form and supporting a façade composed of thousands of folded metal panels.

The complex geometry required close coordination between structural design, detailing, and fabrication. Approximately 800 tons of structural steel form the primary framing system, supporting the museum’s irregular geometry and the continuous interior circulation path that guides visitors through the exhibits.
