Bucksbaum Campus

 

105,000 sf redevelopment of the 22-acre Castle Creek Campus.  The campus is used by the Aspen Music Festival and School in the summer and the Aspen County Day School in the winter.  The multi-phased, fast track project includes new construction of two new bridges, practice rooms, teaching studios, three rehearsal spaces, classrooms, science lab and gymnasium and upgrades to an existing bridge.

Robert Hoag Rawlings Public Library

 

This downtown Pueblo, Colorado project incorporates the reinforced concrete frame structure of the former library into a steel and exposed architectural concrete building.  Structural challenges included a 3-story bridge that spans Bates Lane, cantilevered monumental stairs, and the wafer thin cantilevered 45-ft trellis at the south end of the building.

Doerr-Hosier Center

 

The Doerr-Hosier Center, the new conference center at The Aspen Institute, earned a LEED Green Building Gold Rating.  The 22,000 sf building was constructed using low-impact materials, making the most of natural lighting and devising a geothermal reflecting pool to heat and cool the building.

21,000 sf public library featuring exposed structural steel, clerestories, and a 28 ft tall curtain wall – LEED BD+C Silver.

Bridge in downtown Golden, Colorado with two traffice lanes in each direction and pedestrian sidewalks.

 

Mossman Bridges

 

More than 30 bridges for pedestrians and golf carts.  The bridges utilize a variety of signature heavy timber forms using a stock of reclaimed timber material as the source.

 

Trade Deficit (RiNo Shipping Containers)

 

Conventional shipping containers were deconstructed and reassembled to create a striking monument in the River North District of Denver.  The choice of materials reflects the manufacturing and shipping history of the RiNo area.

15,000 sf addition to existing brewery including: 13,000 sf of tap room, brew house and grain handling space to the east of the existing building; 2,000 sf of cellar space west of the existing building.  Cellar space features cast-in-place concrete slab capable of supporting 8 fermentation vessels.

91,000 sf steel framed addition and renovation of an existing structure featuring a large two-story clerestory commons/cafeteria, many varying roof heights and clerestory window penetrations in roof steps.

 

Aspen View Academy

 

75,000 sf composite steel and steel joist framed building consisting on 3-story classroom wings and 1 story gymnasium, cafeteria and library areas.  

 

Home Ranch Welcome Center

 

3,100 sf welcome center consisting of a visitors center, with exhibition space, and public restrooms.

A renovation included significant interior modifications for a tenant build out to accommodate an "open-air market" concept.  The renovation efforts included strengthening the existing structure and providing new mezzanine levels for future occupants.  Tenant spaces were delineated with exposed cold form stud framing and the front facade was modified to accommodate large, glazed, operable doors.

40,000 sf, 4-story office building in the Taxi mixed-use development.  

 

The Bridge House

 

9,500 sf two story residence built on a sloping site.  The residence has a large span bridge connecting two wings covered by a large cantilevering roof with exposed glulam beams and steel trusses.

Renovation of 4,000 sf of existing hangar and 1,500 sf wood framed addition.

 

Buffalo Sports Complex

 

1,600 sf two-story wood framed concessions/scorekeeper building, 2,500 sf wood framed storage building, and eight dugouts.

Addition and renovation of an existing wood barn. In the existing barn area, the attic floor framing was removed and column lines moved to create a more open space for public events.

Six building complex with fifteen two to three story Live/Work units with tuck under parking. The structure is wood panelized construction on concrete grade beams supported by a helical pier foundation system.

6,700 sf residence economically built with pre-manufactured roof trusses to create eight foot roof cantilevers with a contemporary aesthetic.
